I had to laugh at this little bit of irony

<a href="https://mastodon.social/@webintents" target="_blank" rel="me noopener noreferrer" class="inline-flex items-center justify-center px-8 py-4 gradient-alt-bg text-white font-semibold rounded-lg hover:opacity-90 transition-opacity shadow-lg"><span class="iconify i-feather:user-plus mr-3" aria-hidden="true" style="font-size:20px;"></span> Follow on Mastodon </a>

If only there was a way that link could open their profile on the instance my account is on!

It would help if he mentioned in his posts a pertinent community as an user. It then makes the post appear on Lemmy. 😐️

what’s more, that dozen one-attribute classes could have really just been a single class for the button type… and while I’m at it… 10 KB, after minification and compression?? why the fuck does a follow button need so much code?? oh! its because its made with sloppy coding just like in this example!

Not to be confused with the original Web Intents.

Thank you. Something stirred in the back of my mind when I read the title. Would have jumped down the rabbit hole if not for this comment 🙂

There is a FEP for this - https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fep/src/branch/main/fep/3b86/fep-3b86.md it’s not something dansup came up with originally. We’ll see how close Pixelfed adheres to it.

PieFed has implemented basic support for that FEP since August 2025 and I just added more today.

Good on you Rimu. If NodeBB implements Activity Intents it’ll be because of you.

I was excited about this. Went on to look at the website and was greeted with a “Coming Soon!” message. It all made sense when I saw it was yet-another project from Daniel “Overpromise and Underdeliver” Supernault.

He likes the process of working on greenfield ideas and gets bored once he ships the MVP, which is fine. What is not fine is that he makes a ton of hype around new projects, but after he gets tired of playing with it, he refuses to let go. It sucks the air out of the community for very little benefit.

I was hoping that the PixelFed kickstarter would force him to finally focus on the damn thing, but it seems he simply does not have the drive or interest to work at a steady pace in one single product.

Hi! Sorry to hijack, I am starting learning Laravel (I am a mec. engineer, so I don’t have much background in programming).

Is there something (material, roadmap, advices) could you tell me?

The PixelFed kickstarter was actual money delivered to a bank account. I don’t know how much more incentive one needs.

I will try hard not to speak ill of a fellow Canuck however.

He doesn’t even need to do that, just look at that Whatsapp clone he named after himself.

he should make it more open so others could keep the pace for him
